Isn’t it funny how sometimes a colour combination just stops you in your tracks?

That happened to me when I saw the above image on Pinterest recently. Something about the pale blue and pink just captured my eye and drew me in.

So, I got a tad obsessed and decided to search for other images with the same striking combination.. and thought I’d share them with you.

Of course, being a designer, I then had to rummage through my supplies to see if I could come up with anything in these colours.

And lo and behold! I found some wooden beads in pastel blue, pink, and some grey for a little more interest… what do you think?

I like it! I think I will add it to my winter jewellery wardrobe. If you guys like it, too, I might pop it in the shop. Let me know in the comments…

(It’s sterling silver chain, 22 inches long.)

Have you fallen in love with a certain colour combo lately? I’d love to know what it is so I can go stalk it :)

P.S. Some fun news – I’m going to be one of the speakers at the Problogger Training Event this coming September! It’s in my home state, on the good old Goldie, so if you are coming along, I’ll see you there.

Are Sloths the New Foxes? (or Owls… or Moustaches…)

So, I saw this sloth necklace by MaryMary on Etsy recently (was she the featured seller?) and didn’t think much of it. I thought it was cute, of course, and the silversmith in me could not help but analyse the design… but anyways, that’s off topic!

The point is… after I saw this, I started seeing sloths popping up all over! It got me thinking – are sloths the new foxes? Will they reign supreme as the next cute craft meme?

Let us examine some of the evidence so far…

And finally… you know something’s gone mainstream when there are wedding toppers!

 So, what do you think? Are sloths the next craft meme, or have you seen something else lurking around that might take the crown?

Monday Marvellousness {30/4/12}

Good morning lovelies! How was your weekend? I had a lovely birthday-evening-out with Nick and four of my best friends on Saturday night. There was awesome food in Chinatown + cocktails at two groovy bars in the Valley. The above photo was taken in one of those bars – Nick was being camera-shy!

Today I’ve got some marvellousness for you – pretty things and useful things that I think you’ll enjoy!
