Yes, it was inevitable people – you knew it was coming!
My brooch obsession has continued, and it is time for Part 2 of my collection. We’ve got a bit of a theme this time, as I have 4 new brooches from 2 new shops…

Left: Two beautiful Tasmanian Myrtle Wood Brooches from That Vintage
Right: Two Hand-sewn Brooches from Redeem Designs (I love the Alice theme.. especially the Cheshire cat grin!)
Now that the Aussie Dollar is stronger again, I may have to buy another brooch I’ve had my eye on… I’ll let you know!

You know, until recently, I thought brooches were just for Nanas to wear on their shawls.
Oh, how glad I am to have been so wrong… and finally realising it!
On Friday I’m going to be doing another Oh Brisbane… post showing off all the amazing crafty wares of the brisStyle team – I took a lot of photos at the recent market! But first, I wanted to share my purchases. I recently decided to start a brooch collection – and I had ample opportunity to start it at the market!
I limited myself to 4 brooches, and let me tell you, I could have bought SO many more (in fact, I have my eye on a few more…).
Here they are… please excuse the somewhat naff ‘model’ photos – do you know how hard it is to model something and not feel like a complete idiot??

1. A Creature Strange – love this! I want to learn how to make these fabric yo-yos… so cute!
2. REread – yes, I love owls – and the beautiful, repurposed coloured paper
3. Hungry Designs – OMG look at her HAIR! Yes, same colour as mine, how could I pass her up?
4. Up in Annie’s Room – so sweet! Love leaves, love pink, what can I say…
Freaking cute, no? And all made right here in my wonderful city.
Now… as I said… I’m looking to grow my brooch collection. Got any suggestions for me? I’m all ears!
