Today I Like {15/5/12} The Odette Dress

I would like to don this frock, put my hair in ringlets, and swan around a party with a martini in my hand. There would be lots of dapper gents in suits, with impeccable manners and silver tie-pins. There would be other ladies in equally lovely 50s dresses and beautiful hair.

There would be a live band with a crooner belting out old tunes in a mellow voice. There would be dancing. There would be hors d’oeuvres. Especially devilled eggs (not cool, I know, but man they’re tasty).

We would talk and laugh into the wee hours, and the stars would shine above us in the balmy night.

Anyone got a time machine for me? Or a spot as an extra on Mad Men?

This little pretty can be found at Bohemian Bisoux Vintage.

Today I Like {14/5/12} Cross-Stitch Pained Wall by Eline Pellinkhof

How amazing is this painted cross-stitch design by Dutch designer Eline Pellinkhof?

I saw this on Pinterest today, and after a little Googling, I found this interview/home tour with Eline on Bloesem. Her sweet and quirky style is gorgeous – and this ‘fake’ cross-stitch is such a clever and pretty thing, don’t you think?

Today I Like {3/5/12} Pillowcase Shirt DIY

It’s coming into winter soon here in Oz, but for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, this might be a perfect project at the moment! I think it’s rather adorable – and clever!

Jazz up an old pillowcase and turn it into a pretty shirt with this tutorial from Craftzine. I reckon it would make a cute dress for a little one, too.

I don’t know that my hips would fit inside a pillowcase… but I’m sure I could modify it accordingly with a little flare – perhaps use some contrasting fabric or lace to add in some side panels?
