Each month, a different blogger will be stopping by with a series of posts about craft, creativity, or business. This month, I am very honoured to introduce you to my lovely friend Julie Gibbons (you might know her better as tractorgirl!).

I’ll let Julie take it away now, and tell you a bit more about herself, and what she’ll be sharing here on ED during May.

I live on a farm near Wagga Wagga with my partner and our three children, and we run sheep and crop cereals. I love the space.

I am a maker; my family history is littered with other artists, makers, and designers. It is an essential part of my life, and I love losing myself in my imagination. I studied jewellery and silversmithing at Uni for many years. But with the arrival of motherhood and small children, I have now diverted my making from working with fire and acid, to working with textiles, which is much more family friendly.

I am an admirer of the things other people make. In the nexus between Craft, Fine Art, and Design, there is a sweet spot that is inhabited by wonderful things, and that is where my heart resides.

As you can see, I love making all sorts of things, which stems from the fact that I LOVE MATERIALS.

Yep, when it comes to craft, just about any medium will do; each one has its own particular textures and capabilities and can be transformed into fabulous and wonderful things in the hands of a gifted maker. So for this series, I decided I would share with you some of my favourite mediums, and you can see just how beautiful they can be.

Stay tuned for Julie’s first post early next week!
