I really, really, REALLY want to try this next spring!!
I adore tulips – they are my favourite flower ever. I even made my wedding bouquet from cream tulips.
So the thought of having them lined up like this on my windowsill brings me a lot of joy. I love having pretty things on my windowsill for the light to play with.
Trouble is, they’re a bit tricky to grow in our climate, not to mention expensive! But, I think I’ll get just a few and chill them in the fridge for a month or so, and give this a shot come August.

Beautiful photo, lovely idea!!
I LOVE tulips too :-).
But they are so hard to find at this time of the year. And if you haven’t given them a 10-12 week chilling period, likely they will not bloom.
But guess what, I found PRE-CHILLED tulip bulbs!!
What a fantastic idea and novel idea!
If you or any of your readers are interested to buy them here is the link:

Enjoy!!
And Happy Spring!
How do you do this?

Just an FYI for future readers, I just noticed that the PRE-CHILLED TULIP BULBS are back at http://www.botanicalart.etsy.com.
They should add a cool festive touch to the holiday season.

What’s in the bottom of the glass? Water or some sort of gel?
I received Tulips for Admin Prof day from co-worker. Beautiful in a glass vase with Tulips/bulbs. The instr said to keep the bulbs 1/2 covered in water. I did they bloomed and the next day they were all drooping over and all the petals fell off. I brought them home to plant them. Did I do something wrong? they will no longer stand up straight?
