Today I’m introducing a new series on the blog – 10 Awesome Aussie (Australian – is there anyone who doesn’t know that?) Indie Designers…
I am just continually overwhelmed by the amount of amazing Aussie talent there is out there. There are so many gutsy ‘little people’ working hard at their dream of making it as an Indie creator (and often sole producer) of their designs.
I guess I’m one of them, and I have met so many during my time in the online craft world – I really want to share the love and show the world how awesome the Aussie craft and design scene is becoming.
Each week, I’m planning on sharing 10 Australian Indie Designers in a particular category. I’m going to cover niches such as clothing (in sub-categories), lingerie, textiles, print designers, painters, illustrators, purses, totes, children’s wear, papercraft, stationery, jewellery (in sub-categories), head-wear, shoes, scarves, homewares, toys… you get the idea!
I’m so excited to start this series – I already have an amazing amount of Aussie Indie designers to share with you all! But…
Before I begin, I want to ask you all a few questions:
- Can you think of an awesome Indie category I’ve missed that I just have to cover?
- Can you suggest any designers in a particular category that I must know about? (And please feel free to bring yourself to my attention if you are an Aussie designer!)
- Finally – a selfish one – can you please tweet, stumble, blog, FB, e-mail and generally share this post with your Aussie Indie peeps, so that I can get as much help and feedback on this as possible? I am one person, and can only find so much – I need you all to help me find the best and brightest of us out there!
Sweet.
I can’t wait to hear your suggestions, and I’ll be raring to go with my first post next week!!
P.S. to all you non-Aussies out there… I bet you know of at least one awesome Aussie designer you can share!
P.P.S. You may want to subscribe to Epheriell Designs to keep up with the series – either via RSS, e-mail, or by using the Google Friend Connect widget in the left sidebar 😀

This is such a fantastic idea!!! I know you already have textiles listed but it would be cool to do a nice one on embroidery.
messenger bags, repurposed, upcycled, , eco, eco conscious, eco friendly, salvaged, trashion, recycled, floral decor, reclaimed, think button bouquets!
Photography & hand stitched items (cross-stitch, embroidery, etc)?
Wow, thanks for all the feedback so far, ladies!
Some great ideas for additional categories there – especially love ‘trashion’ Liz – hehee!
Have retweeted this for you, best of luck from a DUSTer 🙂
I’ve put the details in my FB profile page – hope you get some nominations!!
Cheers,
Tasha
