So – have you got the Granny Square bug? I know I have? If so, I’ve got a challenge for you… but first, for those of you who don’t yet know how to get your Granny on…
The lovely Renate, an expert in crochet (see her amazing work in her shop here), has done a wonderful tutorial on how to make a Granny Square! Her technique is slightly different to the one I use (I start a new round on the corner, she starts in the middle of a row), but you get the same result.
Check it out over here if you have the Granny Square bug!
So – if you’re ready to give it a go, I’m going to set you a challenge – the Epheriell Designs Granny-A-Day in June!
If you think you can crochet a granny-a-day all through June, head over to Flickr and join the group – The Epheriell Designs Granny-a-long – and add your squares as you can! I’m going to choose photos from the pool each week to publish here and share with the community. If you read this after the 1st of June, no worries – I’d love you to jump on board any time.
Of course, how could I ask you to give it a go if I wasn’t?? I’m going to add a square a day to the pool all through June – do you reckon you can do the same? Just think – you’ll have 30 squares by the end of the month – well on the way to a whole blanket!!
Let us know in the comments below if you’re up for the challenge – and I’ll keep my eye on the Flickr group pool for some Granny-square-awesome-sauce!

Well Jess, I’ve done half a square so far lol. That’s not bad for someone who is crochet-illiterate 😉 Not sure if I can manage a square a day, but I’ll try for at least a square a week 🙂
