You know, every time I think I know how awesome this crafty community is, my awe and respect just gets taken to another level.
I wanted to let you know about two groups who are working hard to raise money for the flood relief effort here in Queensland – DUST and BrisStyle.
The DUST (Down Under Street Team) on Etsy has swung into action, contacting Etsy admin and setting up a Disaster Relief store – much like they did back when the devastating Victorian bushfires hit. All proceeds (after fees) from the AusDisasterRelief shop on Etsy go straight to the official Premier’s Relief Fund.
So, you get something pretty that a generous crafter has donated, and flood victims get the money. It’s a win-win for all, really!
Not only that… but if you are an Etsy seller – no matter where you are based – you can donate something to the shop. If you could spare something, no matter how small it may seem, it would be so greatly appreciated. Just convo the team at the AusDisasterRelief shop to find out the details. I’ve donated (and sold) one item, and I’m heading over soon to offer up a few more.

Also! The local – and very active – Etsy team here in Brisbane – BrisStyle – has launched the Handmade Ark Appeal. Just search for ‘brisstyle ark’ on Etsy to find all the items generous BrisStylettes have donated to help their fellow Queenslanders. Here are just a few of the items available from the BrisStylettes…
And last – but not least – 20% all sales from my Etsy and Madeit Epheriell shops (which I have just hastily re-opened – I arrived home last night!) – until January 20 will be donated to the Premier’s Relief fund.
So – go get yourself something gorgeous, people!

Thanks for that – I grabbed that one from the AusDisasterRelief store, as I did for the others – each one now links back to the sold item, and folks can find the donor that way.
