And so, when we travel, so does The Great Australian Granny Square. Alas, my original plans to make it as we travelled around Australia were thwarted last year. However! It is now an ongoing project – and I’m only allowed to work on it when we’re on the road.

This time around she got a few more rows – it’s starting to take quite a while to get all the way around, now!

Above is me and the square in a State Forest somewhere in NSW…

And here we are at Carcoar Dam in NSW, also. Note the wind-farm!

She’s growing, slowly, and looking fine.

And, since I’m chatting about our recent travels, I thought I’d share a few photos of lovely crafty friends I met along the way. All of these beautiful people have become my friends online through the fabulous DUST – and it was a joy to finally meet (and even stay with!) a few of them!

Here, I’m with (from left to right) Tess (Planet Treasures), Kirrily (Needle vs Thread), and Kirsten (Paper by Forget-Me-Not). We had a wonderful lunch – and chatted like we’d known each other forever!

Here I am with my home-girl Leanne (Rainbow Revolution) – who will be happy to see I did not post a certain picture of us here… but a nice, sedate one instead… (although you can see I still have the giggles.)

And finally, my dear friend Tasha (Tasha Chawner) – who put us up for 2 nights (thanks to Warren and the kids for putting up with us, too) – we had to stay longer because the floods had cut the roads north! But I was definitely glad to stay the extra time, we had a ball!

I think it will be a while before we head off in The Luggage again – we’re hoping to get over to England to visit family later in the year, and next Christmas I want to be home… so who knows? Maybe we can squeeze a little ‘long weekend’ trip in now and again!
