What is your craft, and why is it awesome?

I’ve always been into crafty things. My Mum had a craft stall when I was younger and had always encouraged me and my siblings to express our creative side.

I adore drawing and painting, especially little cartoon-like versions of people, but I’ve never been terribly good at joining the head to the body – they always ended up with no neck or a bizarre chin! So, when I discovered peg dolls, EUREKA!

Painting peg dolls is my way of doodling, without having to worry about the overall outline of the person, and it allows me to choose the size of the project I start – from a lone doll up to all eleven regenerations from Doctor Who!

I love the fact that all my friends and family have fallen for my dolls as well and it means that Christmas and birthday presents are pretty easy now! Plus, selling them online now means that they’ve moved on from my little corner of Scotland to all around the world.

I think my peg people are awesome because they’re based on my favourite characters from TV and movies and people’s appreciation on them has shown me that I’m not the only geeky girl out there!

{Okay people – can you pick all the characters that the peg people in this post are based on??}
