A few months back, I told you guys about a design competition being run by the tapâ„¢ division of Sydney Water. I loved the idea, because I’m hugely in favour of drinking tap water over bottled water – I have my very own metal water bottle that I carry around – I believe I grabbed this one at Typo a while back!
{btw, anyone have any idea who this artist is?}
Anyhoo, they got in touch with me the other week to let me know the 5 winning designs had been chosen, and to offer 10 bottles to you guys as a giveaway!
Just to refresh your memory:
To encourage more people to drink tap water, tapâ„¢ invited the community to help design their tapâ„¢ bottle. Participants were asked to use their bottle designs to show why sustainability is important to them.
From the submissions, the five most popular were selected, as voted by the tapâ„¢ Facebook community. These will be produced as a limited edition series of 2000, and given away to the public via a fortnightly Tappyhour competition on the tapâ„¢ Twitter page. {This is still happening right up until Christmas!}
Here are the 5 winning designs – I think my fave is either number 2 or number 5… not sure. The penguin makes me feel sad for some reason.
{Yerevan Dilanchian}
{Farnaz Olya}
{OKAYBOSS}
{Laura Trollope}
{Ashley Jones}
From 23 October – 6 November, you can check out the five new tapâ„¢ bottles and interactive showcase at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. A custom-designed, interactive showcase will be created to feature the five bottle designs. Using hand gestures, audiences can explore each of the designs, and learn more about artists. I love it when art + function come together in good design, don’t you?Â
Giveaway
tapâ„¢ are offering 10 bottles for this giveaway – each winner will also receive a ticket to the exhibit at the Powerhouse Museum!
Alas, this competition is only open to my readers in NSW, Australia (sorry fellow non-NSW peeps!). It runs all weekend – winners will be contacted on Monday.
Enter below, and good luck! And hey, make sure to leave a comment letting me know which is your fave design so I can get that one sent to you if you win!
