The door into our room is an old, thrifted barn-style door. It has a big glass pane in the top half, because it was originally a front or back outside door.

However, this door is currently at the foot of our bed – and for privacy, and to block out light, we’ve kept the window covered up. Until now I’ve done this with a big sheet of brown kraft paper, but that’s not really very aesthetically pleasing. So! I came up with a solution.

An art-collage!

This second photo shows the work-in-progress.

This one shows a close-up of the bottom of the collage. Do you recognise any of these pictures?

This one shows a close-up of the middle of the window. The panel in the center is fabric (in fact, the panel from My Girl Thursday that I showed you yesterday!) – the rest is card or paper.

This is the view from the outside. I’ve put up that poster (which is from the latest Frankie) and I might continue with an outside version, too. Obviously, I made the inside pretty first, as that’s what I see most of the time!

It didn’t take much searching to find a whole stack of little pieces of pretty to use in this project. I’ve used art prints, postcards, business cards, hang tags… anything paper or cardboard that I had lying around!
