Hello lovelies! We’re back in Southampton after a long weekend up in Oxford, with no internet (sob). Though, truth be told, we were far too busy running around to spend any time online, anyways!
I had great fun this week keeping up with my challenge, so here are the outfits I put together for Week 2.
Monday
On Monday we were still down in Cornwall, and we went for a drive down to both the Southernmost (The Lizard) and the Westernmost (Land’s End) points of England. It was cool, misty, and damp!
I got this skirt the day before at a Vintage Fair in Falmouth. In fact, I scored a lot of stuff there! To brighten up my grey shirt a little, I’ve got my fave Hungry Designs brooch on.
Tuesday
Oh what a beautiful day! On our way home from Cornwall we stopped in at the Eden Project. It’s amazing. And we picked the perfect time of year to go – all the annual flowers were in beautiful bloom!
This dress (now dubbed ‘The Garden of Eden’ Dress) was another find at the Vintage Fair. I also picked up this belt in an op shop in Falmouth for 2 pounds.
Wednesday
Mostly a day spent at home, but we went out to visit some friends in the evening! This was taken at something like 8:30pm – I love the twilight here!
Another outing of my 2 pound jacket from Falmoth, paired with one of my very first vintage dresses bought from Bess Georgette.
Thursday
Yet another lovely day – my mother-in-law, her friend, and I went to a local lavender farm! It was gorgeous, and smelt delicious.
This is my most expensive purchase to date – a 1960’s handmade dress. If you look closely you can see that it was first made with cap sleeves, but the maker decided to add longer sleeves onto it. It was the perfect colour to wear to a lavender farm.
Friday
Oxford!!! I was so excited to travel up to Oxford, and I was not disappointed when we walked into the ‘old’ part of town.
In fact, I think I was suffering from history overload as we walked around all the amazing buildings and colleges.
Here I’m posing by a massive door on the outside of the Bodleian Library. The courtyard of the Library took my breath away, it was amazing.
I had found this jacket back down in Falmouth (in the same op shop as I found the belt in Tuesday’s outfit) and I thought it was the perfect choice to wear in the ancient university town. Oh, and the bag was a gift from my mother-in-law for my 30th (thanks Jen! xx).
Saturday
Today we went to a wedding reception! One of Nick’s friends from uni (he went to uni in Oxford – no, not the posh one, there is another uni there called Oxford Brookes) was getting married, so almost all his old uni mates were there. Perfect timing!
The reception was at an amazing pub called The Isis, which you can only get to by walking. It’s surrounded by a huge field with a canal on one side.
I almost accidentally broke my run of wearing a UK thrifted piece each day, until I added the scarf, which I’d picked up in Shirley the week before.
Sunday
Today was sun, sun, and festival! It was the Cowley Road Festival, a free day of music and stalls in South Park (yes, that’s really what it’s called) a MASSIVE park in Oxford. I managed to pick up a dress here that will feature in Week 3 – Monday.
Another outing for my M&S thrifted skirt. I soon had my hat on, too – thought I still managed to get a little bit sunburnt!

We’re back in Southampton for the next few days, and might get down to Brighton this weekend, but we’re not sure yet. We are, however, off to France next Wednesday – eep!
