{I’d love to be sitting back, sipping on one of these cocktails right now… mmm… ~ Jess}
I was so excited when Jess asked me to contribute to her blog’s 3rd anniversary for a multitude of reasons!
#1 IÂ think Jess and her DIY blog rock and am obviously excited for her! #2 I love any excuse to have a celebration!
If I have the ladies over for crafty parties or ladies’ movie night, I always like to have wine or a special drink prepared for them. It makes any ol’ ladies night a celebration.
The man’s mom shared this recipe with me and it makes me happy. I am hoping it does the same for you! It’s called Lynchburg Lemonade and is named after Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of the Jack Daniels distillery… so if you hadn’t guessed it, yup, there is Jack Daniels in it.
Popular in the Southern Unites States, you can even see this drink served at a lot of Southern weddings. You can’t taste the Jack Daniels and what makes it perfect for the girls is it is surely a sweet drink. I like to make it in batches (measure cup amounts) but I will give the recipe in “parts” so you can make as much as you want just remember the ratios.
- 1 Part Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey
- 1 Part Sweet and Sour Mix
- 1 Part Triple Sec
- 4 Parts Sprite (7 Up or any lemon/lime soda you prefer)
- Lemon slices and/or cherries, to make it pretty for your party!
To make my drink I get a tall glass, pack with ice then fill half with the mix then top it off with Sprite or whatever L/L soda I have available. If it is too strong for your taste, just add more soda. The beauty of it is that you can make the drink as strong or weak as you and your ladies like it! Mmmmmm!

It is really good on hot days or to take to a party since it’s already mixed. If you are not one for Sweet and Sour mix then you can back off a little on that since Triple Sec is pretty sweet too. The beauty of this drink is that you can make it to your taste over ice! This is just one of many recipes in my Girls Night rotation.
What makes having the girls over more fun? Setting up for the party! From serving sets to sweet little napkins, it’s all about the décor baby! There are so many creative and artistic people out there making our serving dreams come true. These are my top picks because they are unique and can make all the difference on your special little evening.

Congratulations to Jess on her 3rd Anniversary! Cheers and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the next 3 years!
After creating Prim and Propah in June of 2010, she has never looked back. Amanda is enjoying the art and craft of creating her blog where she is documenting her adventures in fashion/passion/crafting/
