I know you’ve got them. Those little, insidious tasks that – for one reason or another – you just keep putting off and putting off.
They might be huge things – like that course you want to write – but my guess is that you’ve got a whole lot of little teeny-tiny tasks that you just keep delaying because they’re not urgent. You’ll get to them, right?
Doesn’t that bug you? Don’t you find your mind coming back to these tasks over and over again, and you think ‘yes yes, I’ll get to that, umm… tomorrow’.
I know it bugs me. I feel like I’ve got these tasks hanging over my head, almost like my own personal heckler, reminding me that I’m not on top of everything. That I’m letting people down by not getting back to them asap. That I’m letting opportunities slip by. That I’m just not good enough.
Eugh – talk about a way to sap creative energy!
So – I name this the week of getting it done!
And, I’m going to use this awesome system:Â 6 Simple Steps to Conquer Your To-Do List by Laura Simms. I kinda do all these things willy-nilly now and again, but it’s time to lift the burden of the un-done off my shoulders and bring back that creative energy that’s been sucked down the vortex of ‘to-dos’!
How about you? Do you have a list of niggling to-dos that you could cross out for good this week if you really went for it?Â
