Like to know what The Great Australian Granny Square is all about – go here!

I got some quality crocheting time in on the train this week, as well as in bed the other night when I had worked all day and needed the soothing rhythm of crochet.
Here is how TGAGS is looking now:
I love the purple yarn I’m working with at the moment, from Gaby. It’s hard to see in the photos, but it’s got a gorgeous texture and flecked nature to it! I took a close-up, too, I love how this makes the square look vast, like a great mountain range…
And I was very happy to find another yarn delivery in my mailbox this week! Time’s about up to deliver here – we’ll (hopefully!) be on the road within a week or two now, so thank you Sasha from Indigo Elephant for these lovely colours!
So – what colour should I move onto next? I’ve got reds, greens, blues, whites, yellows….??
Oh, and how are you going with the Granny-a-Day challenge I set? I have to admit I haven’t managed one every day, but I’ve done quite a few! Some of them are up on flickr here. Since it’s likely I’ll donate/auction off TGAGS once its done, I’m incorporating a little bit of yarn from each contributor into the white-rimmed granny squares, as a momento. I saw this rug on Alanna’s blog, and loved it so much I decided I wanted to make one!
Isn’t it gorgeous?!!

that square is very very pretty, im a purple fan though so i might be a little biased. you trip sounds really exciting. i hope that all is going well with the preparations. i would love to do something like that here in Peru… but… im thinking its not that safe to take a road trip here in your own car. otherwise i would be on it. although by bus… that could be interesting..
Wow Julie, Peru! That would certainly be a beautiful trip! And thank you!
