Hello lovelies! Me oh my, how busy have I been – so much so I’ve been neglecting you!
It’s our last week overseas, and today was a massive and amazing trek around London – which I love – but I wanted to drop in with just a tiny glimpse of our time in Paris last week.
This was taken outside of Notre Dame. This man stood still for as long as I watched, with flocks of tiny birds eating from his hand. I saw a similar thing today in London – a man was (naughtily) holding some nuts in his hand, and a squirrel ran right up to him and up his leg to get to them!
Ahh, the Louvre! It is about 10 times more amazing than you can ever imagine – and HUGE! We didn’t even make it up to the top floor, and we were in there for hours and hours… in fact, the next photo is one of my favourites…
I have never seen such a crush of humanity for the sake of a piece of art. I did manage to get within about 5 people deep of the Mona Lisa, and see her with my own eyes.
There was much more space around the Venus de Milo.
And lordy lord, can it get hot in that museum! Here is me doing a Marilyn Monroe impression, standing over one of the air conditioning vents. Nick snapped this while I was reading the Louvre map, working out just where the heck we were!
Finally, a view that I very definitely squeed about – my first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower…
And there ends my brief glimpse. I have so, so much more to show you all! I promise, when I get home I will make it a mission to give you a picture tour of my journey (including catching up on my outfit posts!). But for now, I will rest my very sore feet and head off for a pasta dinner with Nick and his uncle Mick, whom we are lucky enough to be staying with in London.
Chat soon!
P.S. the dress in these photos is one of three vintage dresses I bought in Brighton. It’s freaking adorable!

Le sigh.
Yes, that Mona Lisa pic…. amazing that it seems more important to get an IMAGE of the painting as a record to say “I’ve been there, done that”, than to stand and experience the painting itself.
So jealous! Love the pic of the birds 🙂
I have a very similar photo of myself and some mad sparrows in Le Tuilleries when I was 16. Glad to see that hasn’t changed. I went to Le Louvre too at the end of the day and there was almost no one at the Mona Lisa so I got to have a long look at her, and the photo.
Paris was so beautiful and amazing, and it looks like it hasnt changed in 25 years.
Wow Paris! i envy you. this the place where i wanted to go too. i wish when i get married we will spent our honeymoon here.
