I’m feeling rather out of it today – my eyes are tired and I’d really love to go back to sleep! Alas, the rest of my body doesn’t agree, so I thought I’d take some time to wander around outside.

I love having fresh flowers in the house, and lucky for me there always seems to be something blooming somewhere on our property, no matter the time of year.

The wattle tree down the front is covered in the delicate little round flowers – it seems to be early, as spring is still a month away. But the bees are certainly enjoying it!

We came back to an overgrown vegie garden, too – Nick has already weeded out the old plants and picked this lot of tomatoes that were growing in the wrong place. This plate full is on the windowsill for us to add to our salads as they ripen.

I fell in love with lavender when I was in England, so I think I might pop down to the nursery this afternoon and see if I can pick up a bunch of lavender plants – I’m going to put them in a big pot outside our glass bedroom door so they get full sun but we can see them from inside! I’ve heard it’s hard to grow here, but I think it’s worth a shot…

What have you been up to this weekend, lovelies?
