Nick and I have a bit of a running joke going about how he never buys me flowers.
I do love flowers, and he truly doesn’t buy them for me very often – but our little back-and-forth is more about us taking the mickey out of ‘traditional’ husband-wife roles (’cause let’s face it, we fly in the face of pretty much all of those traditional roles already!).
So, I was quite surprised when he came home with these on Saturday! The shops are shut here in Australia Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday for an insanely long public holiday due to the collision of Easter and ANZAC day, so he knew it would be the last chance to buy some before my birthday on Tuesday.
So, of course, I just had to share them with you!
Tomorrow morning I wake to the start of my 31st year on the planet, and the start of my fourth decade.
Bring it ON!

How sweet! The lusty woodsman doesn’t buy flowers often, so I understand your giddiness….they’re beautiful! Enjoy your 4th decade, and have the happiest of birthdays thus far!
Lovely Jess – We are the same when it comes to buying flowers. It is our anniversary today and hubby picked me a beautiful red rose from the garden where we were married – that meant far more to me than a bought bunch. Have a great birthday – the 30’s are the best…
Lovely flowers, and a happy birthday to you!
