So, I don’t know about you, but I’m a total convert to handmade soaps. Can’t use any other sort in the shower now, no-siree.
But – if you don’t have a soap holder for them, they go all squishy *sadface*. Hence I began a hunt for some handmade soap dishes.
I kept coming across this particular wooden design… and was comparing them all when it hit me – we have wood, we have wood-tools, and my husband Nick wants to get into woodworking! Nice circumstances, hey?
So I showed him pictures, gave him some measurements… and off he went. It seemed like only a few minutes later he wandered back in and showed me 2 soap dishes – a big one and a small one. And they’re brilliant! But don’t take my word for it…
You can see a bit of soap on them, I got so excited that I put them into use before taking photos, oops! I was rather impressed!
The soap you see is from my two fave Aussie soapstresses (I know that’s not a word, but I like it better than soapmakers) Erin from Inner Earth Soaps and Karen from New Earth Soaps.

Love, love your soap dishes Jess! Gorgeous finish on them. Clever hubby!
They look great! I need to start using handmade soaps too 🙂
Thanks ladies! I’ll tell Nick his work is being appreciated ;D
Love the soap dishes. Will you be selling them? I’ve been selling and using hand-made soap lately too.
Hi Thea! We’re not planning on selling them, though if I could convince Nick to start his own Etsy shop.. hmmm… ;D
