One of the best things about the life Nick and I have created for ourselves is the ability to hit the road in our van – and work at the same time. We have ourselves a pretty sweet setup that allows me to make jewellery and blog and do all the other internetty things I need to do while we’re travelling.
At the moment, we’re on a 2-week road trip from Brisbane to Sydney to Canberra and back again. I had to go to Sydney in order to get my US passport, so we decided – why not make a holiday of it?
It’s been awesome so far – every other time we’ve driven down this way we’ve tended to be in a rush, and haven’t enjoyed all the amazing places along the way. This time, we deliberately decided to take a week to drive the 950km from Bris to Sydney, and it’s really paying off. We’ve found some beautiful spots… in fact, here’s my ‘office’ where I sit writing this blog post:
And here are some other snapshots of our journey so far…
We’re up to day 5 of the trip – we’ll hit Sydney the day after tomorrow.
Business-wise, I’m being a little easy on myself and not changing the Weekly Special while I’m away, so you’ve got 2 weeks to nab a Pearl Necklace on special 🙂
I’m hoping to check in again during our trip! Till then, I think some email answering is in order, and then maybe a swim…
P.S. If you’re curious to see where we are roaming, follow me on Instagram for all the pretty stuff…
That’s Fantastic!!! So inspiring… My husband and I also own a van and have done the odd excursion in it (including a 3-month road trip from the Pilbara down the west coast, across the Nullaboor, up the middle and across to Mission Beach), but haven’t managed an on-the-road workshop set-up yet. That would be my ideal way to live & make! Hope you’re having a blast. That photo of you in your workspace is just lovely!
