Market stalls are a vital selling venue for many a crafter. Some people prefer the social aspect of markets – selling face-to-face – rather than selling online. Or perhaps – like me – you do the occasional market to get your product out into the real world and in front of new people. Not to mention the chance to actually meet some of your current awesome customers!

Your first market can be a nerve-wracking experience! I remember my very first market, (a BrisStyle market) back in 2009. I was preparing for weeks and weeks, reading everything I could about what I needed to do. I made displays, created new products – I even bought a custom-embroidered market apron! I was pretty excited to take my products into a market setting, but I’ll be honest – the whole process was pretty daunting.

I’ve got a decent amount of markets under my belt now (including the Finders Keepers, whew, THAT was a big 2 days!) and I’m much more relaxed about the whole thing. However, I still remember that feeling of panic, or ‘ohmigod have I forgotten anything?!’ that plagued me for my first few markets.

So when Cintia from My Poppet got in touch and told me about a new ebook she and Jodie from the Haby Goddess had written – all about the craft of markets, and how to do it right – first time – I was all over it!

I met Cinti at the Problogger Training Day last year, where the very small group of craft bloggers (including the lovely Maddie from Colour Me There and Pilgrim Lee) flocked together. I’ve not had the opportunity to meet Jodie yet, but I’ve known her (and worked with her) online. They are two of the nicest ladies out there – and with 10 years of marketeering experience between them, they know what they’re talking about.

Their book is full of practical, honest advice on how to run a successful market stall – and some important questions every prospective stall holder needs to ask themselves before they commit to the world of markets.

I asked Cinti and Jodie if they’d sit down with me and chat about their market experience – including their Top 5 Tips for Marketeers.

This podcast is just under half an hour long, and is full of fantastic advice from these market mavens.

Here’s a peek at just what is covered in the book:

You can grab a copy of the book right here {aff} for just $12.95.

{A total bargain in my opinion!!}
