I’m sure you’ve probably heard about this already, but I couldn’t not share!

The Uniform Project has been running since May 1, 2009. It was conceived and is run by Sheena Matheiken.

She had the idea to take one dress – reminiscent of her old Indian school uniform – and wear it for 365 days. Each day, she accessorises with shoes, stockings, hats, cardis, jewellery etc, in an exercise in sustainable fashion.

More than that, the project’s aim is to raise funds for the Akanksha Foundation, who help fund the schooling of children who live in the Mumbai slums.

Many of her accessories are donated, or handmade – many sourced on eBay and Etsy – and does she not look awesome?!
