As soon as I saw this, I knew I *had* to share – and to try it myself! I’ve seen those lovely bokeh heart photos and wondered how they did it – well, here’s one solution, brought to you by the lovely Rebekah of A Bit of Sunshine. This is her filter: I actually gave this a go on Sunday… and it took me a while, and some tweaking, but I finally had some success! I think I should try again with a ‘better’ heart shape – here’s what mine looked like:

And here are a few of the shots I managed to get with it… they’re not brilliant, but you *can* see some kinda-heart shaped flares in them!

Considering that I do not at all class myself as a photographer – and that I was freaking out slightly when trying to work this out when I read all about apature and f-values… I kinda get apature but f-values, nuh-uh! – I’m quite stoked that I managed to get this far.

P.S. Nick is whisking me away to Mount Tamborine tomorrow, for a few days up on the mountain, which he planned a few weeks ago. However, I think this break will be a little bittersweet… and I almost wish we weren’t going.

I’ve deliberately decided to keep things here a little quiet for the rest of the week, mostly because (as some of my dear online friends already know) my grandmother is very ill in hospital at the moment, and we expect her to pass on very soon, but we know not when. So I’m a little somber at the moment, and it would feel wrong to blabber too much about lovely things for the next few days. I hope you all understand – in fact, I’m sure you do.

I’ll be back on Friday – hugs to all, and make sure to tell the people you love how much they mean to you, for me xx
