Today we say hi to Jess from Brown Paper Bunny! Jess was the lucky winner of 3 months of sponsor space in my giveaway a few weeks ago, so I thought it was time that you found out a bit more about her and her cute creations…

I’ve worked in Marketing Communications for almost 10 years, most of which has been in the Defence industry. I’ve loved my career so far, but at exactly this time last year I decided I wanted to be more creative. I joined an online art class, and loved it so much that there was just no turning back. In fact, it may have been the only New Year’s Resolutions I’ve ever stuck to.

I started up a little blog so I could post my work up for critique as part of the class. Gradually I started getting a few readers and I got more excited about blogging. Over the course of a year I participated in seven colaborative art projects, including the Art House Co-op Sketchbook Project (with 28,000+ other artists around the world) and started blogging more regularly.

I’m still finding my style, at the moment I call it four-year-old art, but I love every second that I have a pencil, pen, or paintbrush in my hand! I mostly work in watercolour and ink, but I’ve just discovered lino and stamp cutting, which is loads of fun!

This year I set myself the New Year’s resolution of starting an Etsy store and selling some of my work. It has only been a few weeks but I’ve made some sales and had some positive feedback. I’m learning so much from the talented bloggers and Etsy store owners I come across, especially Jess at Epheriell Designs (editors note – aww, thanks Jess!)! I hope to grow my business so I can spend more time on it and less time on my day job, but really I’m just enjoying making art and being able to share it with others. That really makes my day.
