This week I’m sharing 10 fantastic indie Aussie t-shirt designers. Until I did the research for this post, I had no idea how much groovy t-shirt goodness there was happening in Australia!

All Photos sourced from the designer’s webpages.

1. Mr Blonde

As they put it themselves, Mr Blonde is the ‘love child’ of Jessie Dinan & Adrian Bruinhout. Those of you with a love of “old movie stars, vintage, 50s pin ups, tattoos, music, art, photography, and portraits” – this is the shop for you. For guys, girls and little ones.

2. Cumbungi

Unique illustrations inspired by Australian animals and plants, and designed by Beth. The designs are either hand printed or sewn onto a range of t-shirts. For guys, girls and kids!

3. IMOK

Jen Roberts and Sandra Mason are the creative powerhouses behind IMOK. Not only t-shirts – these ladies also create and sell their art and illustrations.

4. Klub Retro

Head designer Scott Thomas founded Klub Retro in 2003, and began selling at the Southbank Markets. Still designed and created in good old Brisvegas! Some awesome Aussie nostalgia here, people! (Shirts for girls, guys, kids + more).

5. Kosi Kosi

Kosi Kosi is a collaboration between Kane Barri & Kyle Mac. There most recent work has a dark, almost gothic sense about it. For guys and girls.

6. Dead Seven

Made by Sydney designer Anthony Newman, this is a small, but promising range of shirts for guys.

7. Howdy Stranger

Based in Newcastle, Miranda Whittle is the creative mind behind Howdy Stranger. She makes a range of stuff – her shirts for girls are just a part of her line!

8. Four Legs

Run by two apparel designers (and their cat) in Melbourne. A whole range of quirky t-shirts for guys and gals.

9. Random Ally

Created by sisters Kat and Sarah Lloyd, Random Ally has shirts for guys and girls – and all hand-printed by the sisters.

10. Archers of Grace

Designed and manufactured in Byron Bay, these t-shirts definitely have the feeling of beach-blissed-out hippyness about them. Dreamy designs in gorgeous colours – for guys and girls!

So – that’s the wrap-up of 10 Aussie Indie t-shirt designers! Do you know of any other rad t-shirt designers in the land of Oz? If so, please let us know in the comments!

What is it about Zooey Deschanel that makes me love her so?

Is it the cute haircut?

Her quirky style?

I just can’t quite put my finger on it.

Let’s just say that she’s awesome, and leave it at that.

Oh, here’s the new film-clip by Zooey and M. Ward – ‘In the Sun’.

Brittney, this is how a dancing-in-the-school-halls film clip should be done.

A big thank-you to Liss from Daydream Lily, which is where I found the link to this film clip.

Today I’m introducing a new series on the blog – 10 Awesome Aussie (Australian – is there anyone who doesn’t know that?) Indie Designers…

I am just continually overwhelmed by the amount of amazing Aussie talent there is out there. There are so many gutsy ‘little people’ working hard at their dream of making it as an Indie creator (and often sole producer) of their designs.

I guess I’m one of them, and I have met so many during my time in the online craft world – I really want to share the love and show the world how awesome the Aussie craft and design scene is becoming.

Each week, I’m planning on sharing 10 Australian Indie Designers in a particular category. I’m going to cover niches such as clothing (in sub-categories), lingerie, textiles, print designers, painters, illustrators, purses, totes, children’s wear, papercraft, stationery, jewellery (in sub-categories), head-wear, shoes, scarves, homewares, toys… you get the idea!

I’m so excited to start this series – I already have an amazing amount of Aussie Indie designers to share with you all! But…

Before I begin, I want to ask you all a few questions:

  1. Can you think of an awesome Indie category I’ve missed that I just have to cover?
  2. Can you suggest any designers in a particular category that I must know about? (And please feel free to bring yourself to my attention if you are an Aussie designer!)
  3. Finally – a selfish one – can you please tweet, stumble, blog, FB, e-mail and generally share this post with your Aussie Indie peeps, so that I can get as much help and feedback on this as possible? I am one person, and can only find so much – I need you all to help me find the best and brightest of us out there!

Sweet.

I can’t wait to hear your suggestions, and I’ll be raring to go with my first post next week!!

P.S. to all you non-Aussies out there… I bet you know of at least one awesome Aussie designer you can share!

P.P.S. You may want to subscribe to Epheriell Designs to keep up with the series – either via RSS, e-mail, or by using the Google Friend Connect widget in the left sidebar :D
