I am so darn proud of Nick that I just had to share this with you all. You might remember the little wooden soap dishes he made for me a few months back?
Well, he’s wanted to get into woodwork for a long time, and always maintained that he first needed a workbench to make stuff on. So, this week just gone, he finally made one! And I am personally blown away by how awesome it looks – seems that all that practice we got building the inside of the van has paid off!
The only problem now is that it looks so new and shiny, I think he’s going to find it hard to bang it up by actually using it! You can see he even put a top on the top!
He hasn’t decided what he’s going to do when he goes back to work yet (if we ever get away on this trip, and back again – and if I ever let him escape being my ‘Boy-Friday’) but I reckon he should do an apprenticeship and become a carpenter or cabinetmaker. I’m a firm believer in “it’s never too late to do/become what you want/love”.
And hey, he can get lots of practice when we build our house, right?
P.S. I have lots of goodness to share with you from the markets on the weekend over the next few days – stay tuned!

Very nice work , Nick !
That looks amazing! I was thinking the same thing, it looks too good to use as a workspace.
Will be shame to loose your Boy-Friday, but life is best enjoyed when you follow your heart. He should chase his passion! Go Nick!!
