Today we had to make our way down to Redcliffe to see our accountant (tax time… blergh).

However! It was made shiny by a nice walk along the esplanade (including past where we got married… awwww) AND a visit to our old Butchers, who make THE BEST BACON IN THE WORLD. Seriously, they do. Nothling Bros. in Margate. Go forth and indulge in bacon heaven! (Apologies to my Vegie readers, I have no food joy to share with you today.)

I also managed to sneak in a visit to the Lifeline Supa Store (yes, that’s how they spell it, don’t call the grammar police on me) and got 4 beautiful sheets to use for sewing. I’m dying to make another dress, but alas, we leave for our trip to Melbourne and Canberra on Thursday, so I probably won’t get the chance before we go.

P.S. yes, I am wearing THE most un-sexy footwear ever. Busted. These are what I’m usually wearing around home. Feel free to sponsor me for Frocktober with the desire to never see them again. ;D

P.P.S. oh yes, the dress! *facepalm* This is a beautiful authentic vintage Swirl dress, that I adore. Since buying this one I’m always on the lookout for more Swirl dresses, but so far they’ve either been too expensive, or not cute enough. I live in hope. If you ever find one somewhere, and you don’t want it, I will bestow great virtual heapings of adoration on you if you’d let me know!

My Frocktober Pledge

I have a couple of pledges for Frocktober – which is an annual event to raise money for Ovarian Cancer Research:

  • Each day I will don a vintage or handmade dress, take a photo, and blog about it here on Epheriell Designs. Considering I’m travelling to Melbourne and Canberra to attend the Problogger Training Day AND attending one of my bestie’s weddings, it’s going to be a frocktabulous month, and I might even be able to drag some other ladies into the fray!
  • I am going to sew my very first dress!!! {DONE!}Yes, I am very, very excited about this – and terrified, too! I have the perfect pattern, the perfect fabric – and it’s one of my goals for 2011. This is just the kick in the skirt that I need to get it done!
  • At the end of the month I’m going to auction off one of my vintage dress collection, and all the money raised will go into my pledge fund!
