Wow. What a mind-blowing few days I’ve had!
I arrived home this afternoon after 3 days in Sydney – possibly some of THE most exciting days of my business/career so far. {And it’s not over yet…}
Yesterday saw the unparalleled event that was Etsy Success Sydney {look for the hashtag #EtsySuccessSydney on twitter to get all the goss} take off and soar 300 people into the stratosphere of inspiration and joy.
My only complaint about the day? That I wanted to see everything, but couldn’t be in 2 places at once! However, you and I will both have to wait until Etsy gets all the sessions up online (yep, they were all filmed, and coming to an interwebz near you soon!).
I thought I’d take you on a photographic journey of the day… starting with a prequel. I’ve hidden the rest of the photos behind a ‘more’ tag, because otherwise the blog would take eleventy-billion years to load.
P.S. There is a link-up at the end of this post – if you’ve written about Etsy Success Sydney on your blog, please leave your link there so we can all check out each others’ posts!
So, let’s dive in, shall we?
We begin our journey on Friday, with my room-with-a-view and the Etsy Success Sydney speakers dinner, where we all got to know each other… quite loudly… (a group of wallflowers, we were not!).
The view from my teeny-tiny hotel room in Potts Point.
A Sydney-style breakfast.
The speakers dinner! With Rebecca of Wee Birdy and Andrew Peterson from Etsy.
Jo, the editor of Frankie, Kruti from Etsy, and Lexi from Potty Mouth Mama.
Me and Jo.
It was great to have a chance to meet (mostly) everyone the evening before the big event, because once the day dawned, we were all running around like crazy people, and didn’t have much of a chance to catch up until drinks in the evening!
The Day Dawns…
This was the view from the patio around our conference rooms at the MCA. Quite a hardship, as you can see.
Obligatory-tourist-shot.
Me and the lovely Sam of Matou en Peluche! Sam and I have been online friends for years – she and I walked to the event together on Saturday morning.
One room had these gorgeous light-trees!
And this adorable decor…
Rockin’ my speakers tag.
Then, I opened the programme to find this…
…rather unexpected!!
Chad {the CEO of Etsy} kicked off the day with his talk ‘Finding Your Courage’ – so much great inspiration from him. {Image by @uptights}
Etsians got plenty of props in his talk.
The view from this conference room…

This was our panel room…
…and here we are on-stage. The time flew by SO quickly! {Photo by @bypomegranate}
I got a little pressie! Naww, thanks Etsy! They were very tasty… I saved them and brought them home so Nick could have one. He is my right-hand-man after all.
Had a great time chatting with the lovely Danielle Maveal (yep, that’s Daniellexo to you Etsians!).
I loved this panel by Jo and Lexi… I felt like a puppet nodding my head to everything Jo was saying (from the perspective of an editor).
Then, it was time to party! Drinks all-round… {Photo by @weebirdy}
…and tasty treats, too! {Photo by @hungrydesigns}
It was great to see so many BrisStyle gals! {Photo by @hungrydesigns}
And fun was had by all after a MASSIVE day! {Me with @kirsteenephelan}
Etsy Success Sydney was one of the most inspiring and enjoyable events I’ve ever been to – HUGE props to the @EtsyAU team for making it happen!
I know I’ve kinda skimmed over the ‘stuff I learnt’ part of the day, but I’ll be back blogging about this again when all the sessions are up online, so keep an eye out for that!
In the meantime, if you’ve written your own post about the day, please leave a link to your blog post below so we can all have a read.
Now, I need to go start packing… eek!

Jacinta, I think a post a day would be the only way to cover everything – there was so much to learn! Thanks for leaving your link!
This looks like such a great event. I really wish I could’ve attended. Hopefully there will be one in Melbourne some day.
Love the dress you wore to the speakers dinner! 😉
It’s one of my favourites!! 😀 And at least I’ll see you at the Problogger conference in Melbs!
Hello Jess,
It was lovely to meet you on saturday and wow what a great collaboration of information and professionalism.
If anyone thinks crafters are backyardians they need to go to one of these days and see the likes of yourself and others and how proud you should be of your journeys.
have a great time too up north on your trip.

(ps I was speaking to you in the food line :))
Hi Lisa! It was great to meet you, too. And I agree, crafting really is a wonderful business for a lot of people, who work their butts off to make a go of it!
Nice summary Jess! Also, it was lovely meeting you at the cocktail party! I’m looking forward to seeing your posts from The Whitsundays.
I have posted my photos of the day onto my Facebook page here:

Great pics Jess, great post! It was an awesome day – lovely to meet you in person too!
I wish Etsy could organise something like that every year! I think everyone enjoyed it and got loads out of it!
I certainly wrote down loads of notes, got totally inspired, felt re-energized and motivated too!
From everything I’ve read about the event it sounds like such an amazingly inspiring event, and glad to hear you had a great time too! Hopefully they’ll make it an annual event, I’d like to tap in to some of that kool aid one day 🙂
ps. and agree with Ms. Georgette – the dress was such a fab choice!
Loved reading this post! And all the pictures – so ace!!
It was brilliant to meet you. I wish it was for longer so we could have chatted more!
I have to say I am very bummed to have missed this, I was stuck at home with kiddos due to a hubby in India! I am envious Anastasia got to meet you in person Jess!!
Thanks for your post though – it gives me a glimpse of what I missed.
I am also grateful for the links to other posts to check out.
Not. so. sad. now.
Thanks Lovely!!!
