IMG_3502Today we welcome Fred Morse – an artist from California! Fred uses a number of media in his art – painting, printmaking, whimsical sculpture and cartooning.

Where do you live?

I live in The Napa Valley in California

Where do you do your work?

I do my work either in my home studio with my 2 Golden Retrievers watching. I also attend ceramic glasses and printmaking classes in which I create and interact with other artists.

What’s your favourite place in the world, and why?

My favorite place in the world? A 10000 sq ft snow covered mountain-So I can ski down. Why? Beauty, serenity and nature.

About me-I am retired. Always been self employed. Real Estate Investing has been my livelihood for the last 15 years. I have been married for 36 years with 2 children. A daughter, who is a social worker and a son who is in college. I love art, golf, tennis, and skiing.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

As a child I wanted to be a Fireman

How did you first get into your craft/art?

I first got into art as a child. My Father went to Stanford University and later they owned a business on the Stanford campus. The campus is full of art and I would ride around on my bike and look at the work and think ” I will do that someday”

What do you make?

I make figurative ceramics,pastels , acrylics, cartoons and printmaking.

What are you most proud of making?

What am I most proud of making-Making it to 63 years old-The way I conducted my youth I did not think I would make it past 24.

What do you like the most/least about selling your wares online?il_430xN.75828454

On line Least- That the art does not show well and customers can’t touch it etc. The most- you don’t have to schlep it everywhere
