She’s here!
I was insanely pleased last week when my lovely new dress form arrived! She is everything I wished for, and I can’t wait to put her to work in her new position as my jewellery (and possibly clothes??) model.
I took her through a bit of a trial run to see how she looks – and I’m super-happy with her work! The neutral colours! The lovely shape! The sexy legs!
Modelling the new Deep Blue Necklace from Vintette
Modelling the new Peaceful Garden Necklace from Vintette
However – I have a dilemma! She is far to lovely and anthropomorphic to keep calling her ‘the dress form’ – so I need a name.
Can you help me, dear reader? Can you suggest the perfect name for my lovely girl?
Those of you who follow me on twitter and facebook would have already perhaps made some suggestions last week – make sure to enter here by putting your suggestion below! We had lots of gorgeous ye-olde girl’s names crop up.
The winner will be the person who suggests the name I finally choose for her! I’ll make a choice by Saturday (the 27th of August 11) of the week, and announce it here.
So – what does the winner win? I think perhaps your choice of goodies from Vintette, up to $25 in value! So leave a comment below with your suggestion, and go browse Vintette to see what pretty you might choose.
P.S. These two necklaces are in-store now!

…the first name that came to me Jess was ‘FLORRIE” as in short for Florence!
Enjoy her whatever her names ends up being!! : )
I mean name – I am not suggesting you will be undecided and give her multiple names!!!! hehe x
How about Miss Edna? My Nanna’s name is Edna. She just turned 90 but she was a very stylish redhead back in the day! =)
Hi, I thought Caroline or Grace. Both elegant, old worldie and a hint of sophistification ie Princess’s.
I think you should name her “MARIETTE” … just a great sophisticated, feminine, sturdy name! (like her form π
Hi Jess,
What about “Amelie” – very French and fashionable!
I think such a classy lady can only be called Mathilde. I feel she’s French, classy and deserves an excellent glass of wine on her days off from modelling.
Gillian
first thing i thought of was Mabel!
What about Gwendolyn or Gwennie for short?? I’m currently in love with that name!
What about “Coco” after Coco Chanel the famous seamstress/designer.
Your dress form looks very chic and would look fab in a little Chanel number I’m sure…
I’m going to go with my first thought when I saw her – Grizelda. ΓΒ I have no idea where I heard that name originally or why I thought of it now, but I like it π
Kaylee! Because it’s my name π haha and I think it fits. Or Sarah.
She looks sophisticated, classy and yet youthfully young. Gabrielle would be perfect π
Do you know what? It made me think of my Aunt who is a dress maker and instantly I thought Mannequin Margaret but am sure you will come up with something wonderfully creative π
Bernadette! π
My dressforms name is “Patsy” and she is over 80 and a very saucy minx. But your young lady I think her name might be “Betsy-may” and she may also be a saucy minx! I mean with that beautiful leg who would wear pants or bottoms?
My dressform is “patsy” and she is around eighty years old and a very saucy minx. I think your lovely young lady might be “Betsy-May” and she may also be a saucy minx… Or a sexy librarian – the way she rocks that blazer with no pants! Who would wear pants with a leg like that! Betsy-may, you saucy minx!
I was so excited I had to say it twice. Also the error Jess.. It came back:(
I have two suggestions, Elora (shining light) or Estelle (star) – She most definitely shines brightly so, I think one of those would be oh so fitting!
My mom, Maggie (Magdalen), was the most un-crafty person in the world – her cut off shorts were always lopsided, and her favorite paint came from a bingo dobber; that said you couldnt as for a better supporter, she would stay up late to help me finish a project, and would go anywhere with me to find the right piece. Maggie (Magdalen) was her name, and she was the best support I could have ever had
Stella would be a great choice of a name. In Tennessee Williams street car named Desire the heroine was Stella. I’ve always thought that name has a sense of strength and grace. And perhaps a bit of mischief.
Priscilla!!!
oooh, just thought of another…since your wonderful new dress form is so *statuesque*….so beautiful, her name has got to be Newmar….. JULIE Newmar!! π
I’m on a roll… how about Evie as in E.V. Evelyn, Evie for short? The first two letters of your two shops!! It’s perfect!! I’m so happy for you Jess, for getting her. She’s lovely! And so are you!
Ohh, I like that! And thanks, sweet! x
Hi Jess
Great info – you are so inspiring!
I think you should call your new dress form BEV.
B for bespoke
E for Epheriell
V for Vintette
And Bev is such a friendly name- I think you will probably end up talking to her!!
Cheers
Suse
Deelylah (the dress form)
Violetta. It sounds incredibly stylish and worthy of being adorned in the lovelies that you will put on her.
i suggest you a wonderful name for your dress shop”ELEGANTIE”
