I asked this question on the *bespoke* Facebook page yesterday, and loved the responses so much, I thought I’d bring it across to the blog!
My answer to the question? Salt & Pepper shakers… and classic cars!
If you’re a long-term reader, you probably already know I’ve got a rather prodigious collection of both ceramic birds and vintage dresses, but honestly, I’m starting to run out of space in this little home of ours, so more collections are a no-go.
Here are what some of the *bespoke* readers said they would collect:
-
Rebecca DaCosta More vintage fabric!
-
Jo Durand teasets
-
Sandra Fox tea towels, tea cups and pretty plates.
-
Katherine Appleby Yup – teapots and teacups here too! 😉 And old wooden art boxes and old interesting coloured glass ware… Then I would create something akin to a whimsical Victorian gothic decor! hahahaha!… Yeah, if I had money, space, and if I continue to drift into insanity! 😉 hehehe!
-
Sweet Gracie Candles Yes, tea sets 🙂 and vintage bottles
-
April Smelser Starr Vintage luggage! Old trunks and suitcases and so forth. 🙂
-
Sarah Elizabeth Phelps Hear hear on the vintage luggage!
-
Charlotte Sykora I would collect vintage dolls houses. Tin, cardboard or ply. And fill them with furniture. Yay!
How about you? What would you collect if space and money were no object?

For me… collecting vintage goes without saying! 😉
But teacups are vintage canisters are also a weakness of mine.
I would collect rocks, minerals, and fossils! I’ve been fascinated by them since I was a little girl!
I’d definitely keep adding to my collection of tribal masks – just need to travel to all the exotic locales to get them!

Now that’s a collection I’d love to have a peak at!
Sewing machines, typewriters and stand up arcade games!
I would collect doll houses of all shapes and sizes and fill them with tiny tiny things I made myself! 🙂 I already sort of collect kokeshi dolls but it is limited by money, sadly. So, I’d also get more of those, if I could.
I’m a clutter-phobe, so I’d collect plane tickets and the memories that go along with them!! Traveling extensively with my family would be amazing!
Mid century modern furniture and decor (especially matte white vases). And all the art work that I’m constantly swooning over. Sigh.
It would definitely be Barbie dolls and the cute accessories. I used to design and make clothes for mine when I was young and Ive never been able to resist a walk through the Barbie aisle when visiting a toy shop with my children.
