On Friday, I was lucky enough to be part of the inaugural Bleeding Heart market in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD (first Friday of every month – come say hello to me at the June market!). It was a gorgeous, blue-sky day, and I was surrounded by a truly fabulous bunch of makers. This was the view just behind me…
And here I am with my multi-brand stall!
I bought one of these awesome eye-chart pieces (in brooch form) for one of my besties from Gone Dotti.
And I also got this perfect papercut from Trudy Florence (we had a great chat when we realised we were both half-Dutch!)
This sums up my motto in life, really!
Here are some of the other marketeers, including Your Organ Grinder, more from Gone Dotti, and Impossible Alice.
And here: Kimono Reincarnate, Kim Aitken, Chrissy Foreman C, Lust Not Want Not, and Morgan Kennedy.
Also, on Sunday, after the Mother’s Day Classic run, my mum and I wandered over into the city, and came across the Suitcase Rummage.
I got myself a cute little birdie brooch (she wrote down her DeviantArt site but I lost the paper!!! If anyone recognises her work, please leave a comment below) and bought mum a second-hand scarf for just a $1 (don’t worry, that’s not ALL I got her for Mother’s Day!).
I also snapped the work of Emily Nelson…
… and Margot Runge.
Whew! So much awesome!

So much awesomeness! I would have gone crazy shopping!
Wow, so many fun things!! I love seeing everyone’s packaging/logos/branding – so fun!
You got a great shot of Kim Aitken’s work. I love her ceramics so much! This month was the first rummage I didn’t do in a long time, looked like a lovely day.
your stall looked fabulous! What a awesome bunch of makers and crafts at the fair. What is a suitcase sale? Never head of that before but sounds like a truelly fabulous day was had.
Apryl – it’s a big market in the city square once a month – each ‘stallholder’ literally brings a suitcase, and inside it must fit all their wares, including a sheet to put down on the ground. It’s pretty cool!
So, SO many cute things! What a talented group. And I am absolutely in love with your display, especially the Epheriell cards.
Ooh, Thanks for the mention! 🙂 I’m eye-ing off some of your earrings! hehe
I need to get a partner at my stall so I can look around a bit more – looks like there was some great stuff at Suitcase Rummage and I didn’t even get to look at it all!
Thanks Emily! And yep, that’s always the trouble with doing markets – I want to be checking out everyone else’s wares!
