The Reincarnated Kimono Project

All of these amazing pieces – and more – were made from 2 Kimonos.

My friend Melanie – of Kimono Reincarnate (yep, she is featured in *bespoke* Issue 2!) put together this amazing project. Fifteen different artists took their piece of the kimono and made something amazing.

If you’re in Brisbane, I recommend you check it out – I went to the opening night, and the pieces are beautiful. I seriously wanted the Maiocchi dress – alas, it wasn’t for sale… sigh…

    Thanks so much for the feature Jess! I think there are a lot of us coveting that dress – alas, even if it was for sale, it’s not in my size 🙂

    It is so fascinating to see how these couturiers play with the colors. The craft is pretty awesome!

    so cool!! I have a purse made of an old kimono…well I think it is, thats what they told me anywayz haha!!
