Normally, I do not ever, ever bother with nail polish. My job has a habit of completely wrecking my nails – what with filing, sandpapering, and manipulating silver wire and sheet. However, since my holiday manicure, I’ve been making an effort to keep my nails mostly un-destroyed, and when I was in the supermarket today, I saw this nail polish and thought ‘what the heck, let’s give it a go!’.
So, I grabbed a bottle, and popped it on my nails tonight. This is 2 coats + a top coat I had lying around.
Looking down and seeing shiny, happy, glittery nails is kinda fun, I have to admit!
Sure, by tomorrow it will probably be half-chipped and sandpapered off, but hey, I can enjoy it for one evening, right?
Life is made up of moments, and I shouldn’t deny myself the frivolous fun of pretty nails because they won’t last long… goodness, how many other things might I avoid if I applied that logic to them, eh?
For anyone who wants to check it out – it’s Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Color (the US spelling) Gold with purple sparkles! I got it at Woolworths.

That is pretty cute. I usually don’t paint my nails for the same reason, after one day they are chipping and covered with acrylic paint. I recently got creative though and did two colors with polka dots.
I like it! I’m into art deco glamour and I can imagine a 1920s flapper girl wearing this! xx
