Hello again all! Another super-busy week has passed by, and we’re just over half-way through our trip, which I can’t quite believe!
Monday
Monday found us still in Oxford, where we spent the day with one of my best friends from Oz, who is also over visiting her in-laws with her English husband! Catching up with her over here was quite a surreal experience, it has to be said.
This dress was a find from the Cowley Road Carnival stall the day before – from a woman who travels around to different fashion houses buying samples and seconds from them. Apparently this one is from Spain. Though it shall henceforth be known as my ‘Oxford Dress’.
Tuesday
Today we were back in Southampton, and I spent the afternoon thrifting with my mother-in-law! The sheer volume of op shops over here is staggering, I could spend my whole life searching through them all!
Today I broke out my blazer again, along with one of my Threadless tees.
Wednesday
Stonehenge! It is less than an hour away from where we are. And rather than pay the 7 pound entry fee, we cheated and looked through the fence 😉 You don’t get much closer if you pay to get in these days, anyway. It was smaller than I expected it to be, but still very, very cool.
This cardi is fast becoming one of my fave accessories. It keeps my arms and back warm when it’s just a little chilly.
Thursday
Yesterday, after Stonehenge, we also visited Sailsbury (and yes, the Cathedral is stunning!) where I found the shirt and scarf I wore today.
I love the colours and the print on the shirt – blue seems to suit me these days as a redhead!
Friday
Today I got to visit my first Manor House – and the National Motor Museum! We saw some of THE most gorgeous cars in existence. Not to mention a whole lotta crazy cars from Top Gear (and I also have a photo standing next to The Stig Suit, but I thought this one was a tad classier…)
My pink jacket again, I love this thing!
Saturday
Slight fail today, as Nick and I spent the afternoon apart – he hung out with his some of his mates and I went walking with a few others. We did a stunning, relaxing walk from one village to another along a river – it was a gorgeous sunny afternoon.
However, we both forgot to get a decent photo – so you can just see the cute little shirt I bought a few days earlier peeking out from under my cardi. I shall have to wear it again this week or next and get a decent shot!
Sunday
Today we went to Brighton! I LOVE Brighton!
If we ever live over here, that’s where I want to settle. It’s by the sea, and has a whole lotta gorgeous old hotels along the waterfront, but that’s not the best part. The best part is the shopping! It is FABULOUS! So many gorgeous vintage shops in such close proximity. And next week’s photos will show you some of the beautiful dresses I managed to find…
But Sunday was our day to wander the waterfront – so here I am on Brighton Pier with my fairy floss (or candy floss as they call it here). Nom! You have to watch out for the seagulls though – we saw one steal the meat out of a little kid’s burger right in front of us – it just swooped down and the poor kid was left standing in shock!

We’re off to France tomorrow, which I am pretty darn excited about (though I am NOT looking forward to the flight in a dinky little plane, urgh).
I hope I can find some more amazing clothes in Paris… I’ll let you know!

Your looks are all fantastic, and the trip looks lovely too
Very cute! That gray sweater is ADORABLE!
You look amazing. Perfect ‘holiday outfits’. Love love LOVE the stripy blazer.
When I visited England a couple years back went to Stonehenge as well and thought it would be larger than it was, but it was still very cool. That is funny about the seagull, that exactly happened to be once before also, but I was having a churro thing….
Hey!
I lived in the UK for 8 years, so miss it! Now I live in NZ.
If you visit London, make sure you go to Broadway Market, by Lincoln fields, you will love it. And you can eat there in the park, great vibe. And also go to the Flower Market, in Columbia Road, at the end of the morning is best, when you get the bargains 😉
