Yesterday I spent another lovely clear winter’s day at the Bleeding Heart Cafe Market. I thought I’d show you what I wore – another of my vintage mid-century dresses (I got this one from Studio 1950.)!
This one’s actually a bit big for me, so we had to punch a new hole in the belt a loooong way along from the other ones, but it still fits pretty well when cinched in at the waist!
It’s made from a shiny shiny fabric, covered with a cute little pattern of what look like jugs or pots – it almost looks a little Egyptian to me.
What is this photo?? I look drunk… (I’m not, promise)
I made a few little adjustments to this dress – when I bought it there was a tie hanging down from the top closure. I took that off, and moved the top button down a spot to replace a missing button.
I also thought I’d try out adding these matching brooches – they actually came on another vintage 50s dress I bought, and they originally had some of the crystals missing.
I managed to find vintage crystals exactly the same (yay for Etsy!) and repaired them. They go super-well with the crystal buttons!
When I got a little chilly, I had my trusty blue velvet jacket to keep me warm…
And I indulged in the purchase of a few cute badges, from Your Organ Grinder and Gone Dotti.
