You’ve heard it all before… “if you want to get serious about your blogging you need an editorial calendar.â€
“Yeah, yeah†I hear you say, but I’m here to tell you from experience that editorial calendars really are the sliced bread of organising your blogging efforts.
For ages I didn’t have one. My blog posts were written entirely on the fly, and looking back over what I’ve posted in years gone by, this really shows.
But this year for me was all about the blog (it was kind of like a New Years Resolution… and one I’ve kept!). It was my year to find my voice; the year I would read as much bloggy-related info as possible. And the year I would implement it.
And the one bit of info that I kept coming across…. Yep. Editorial calendar.
So I relented. Found myself with the gorgeous Life is Messy Planners by Mayi Carles and began planning my blog in earnest.
You’re still not convinced?
Here are 3 reasons why you should start using an editorial calendar:
1. It reduces stress. You’ll be able to stay on top of your bloggy duties, which will help keep your content fresh and flowing because you’re not stressing out about topics.
2. You can plan your posting schedule. You’ll be able to instantly see at a glance what posts you are writing about and be able to plan your post-writing-day more effectively.
3. You will capture ideas and reduce writers block. We all have those spontaneous blog topic ideas that get scribbled on a piece of paper or filed in your brain, and then lost and/or forgotten. Writing them on your calendar gives them a permanent home, ready for future use.
And to further convince you all to give it a try, I’ve created a combined Weekly Blog Planner & To-Do List for you download {Jess’ note – you can find these on Tasha’s blog sidebar over here.}.
Honestly, your blog and your sanity will thank you!

Good-oh Rose 🙂 Â I’m glad to help out – I can remember what it was like being a newbie to blogging (and I’m still learning, trust me!!)
Best of luck with your blogging, and let me know how things go.
