Welcome to the weekly Feature and Giveaway! Every Monday, we’ll be featuring a lovely craftsperson, artist, or artisan – and every week you’ll have the chance to win something from their shop!
This week we welcome Jennifer, from Andromeda Designs. Jennifer makes gorgeous jewellery – my favourite is her stunning felt work!

Where do you live?Warwick, Rhode Island
I have a small studio in my home, but my work is portable so I often work in my bedroom while watching TV or on the deck in my backyard.
My favorite place is my own little corner of the universe. It’s where I grew up and all my family lives in close proximity.
I would love to say that I don’t have a ‘day job’, but for now it’s still necessary. I work retail at a major department store. I spend much of my free time making jewelry, but I also enjoy reading and drawing. When I ever get around to taking photos I will be listing some of my drawings in my Etsy shop.
What did you want to be ‘when you grew up’?I think I always wanted to be an artist.
I was an art major in college and mostly into drawing and painting at that time. I thought it would be fun to take a jewelry design class. I was hooked from the start. By the end of the second week I decided to change my concentration from painting to jewelry design.
I make jewelry using a variety of techniques including stringing, wire wrapping and needlefelting.
The bracelet I made for the first Fire Mountain Gems competition. It placed first in the metal beads category and won third place in the grand prize judging.
What do you like the most/least about selling your wares online?I love the opportunity I have had to connect with other people in the online communities where I sell.
the satisfaction I get from creating something.
People won’t put down their cell phones long enough to acknowledge the person in front of them.

I hope that my work brings a little joy into people’s lives.
